2007 NCAA® Rowing Championships- Brown Claims Program's Fifth National Title

Washington is 5th in the V4+, 6th in the 2V8, and finishes 3rd in the V8 3rd Final.  The first 500 meter speed in the grand finals took their toll on the Washington crews.  The flip side on this is that there is a lot of youth in the lower shells, including an all-freshman V4+ that went all the way to the grand final of the NCAA's in their first year of collegiate rowing, picking up some huge experience along the way.  Congratulations to all of our committed athletes - and your alum/friends fan base out here look forward to watching you compete at the highest levels of your sport in the coming years!

Two Washington Crews Advance to Grand Finals at NCAA Championships :: The Husky junior varsity eight posts fastest time in repechage to advance to Sunday's title race

Saturday 5/26 7:30 a.m. pdt:  V4+ and 2V8 advance to the Grand Final with solid rows on Saturday.  The V4+ came out of the blocks with Yale and the two crews then set the pace for the field, Washington fending off Minnesota throughout and finishing second to Yale, advancing to the Grand.

The 2V8 looked in control and rowed within their boat the distance.  The team took a solid start and then shifted to a 34, understroking the field.  Washington and Minnesota, by 1,000, were separating from the pack and were neck and neck coming into the last 500 meters, Minnesota slightly ahead, Washington's rate rising to a 36.  In the sprint Washington rowed confidently through the opposition, finishing about a deck ahead.
